Some time back, a bunch of nuts met on Yahoo Canasta! Somewhere between that point and this, we decided to all get together on my Grandfather’s campground. This turned out to be an EXCELLENT idea!!!
Bonnie, Wayne and their Son Cody, were the first to arrive.
The following morning, we went to the Huddle House (all except my Bride who couldn’t get the day off) and ate breakfast. From there we headed out and picked Barbara and her five children up (I‘m going to have to get some help with names and edit this).
Later that day, Sheila and her Daughter Anya, got in………. THEN IT WAS ON!
Let the cards fly………….. Well, the cards did go airborne once in a while, but the puns flew all weekend long!
We played canasta, ate, yakked, played canasta, ate, watched the children swim, yakked some more, played canasta………….. You get the idea!
We had a blast! I know I sure did! It was fun and I can’t wait to do it again. The whole ordeal was as unarranged as it could have possibly been, but everything worked out great. Children everywhere, having fun and being children……… and not ONE bad problem! I have to take my hat off to the parents for being such good parents, but mostly I have to take my hat off to all the children who were more interested in having fun than fighting. This is lost with so many today.
Everyone’s headed out now, trekking for home. I’m tired and can barely keep my eyes open, but I can’t remember having more fun!
Sorry, no more on the topic from me today. I have to get some rest so I can get up and go to work tonight.

Bonnie is going to come in and post her own overview! (shhhh don’t tell her, it’s a secret till she reads this). And she's actually going to make her own post, not just reply with a comment to this one! lol

I couldn't agree more... and yes, you spelled the names just right! :) We're back home, and I'm whooped!! But I'd do it all again in a heartbeat... I don't know Steve, but heard about Steve this weekend... it's worth the trip buddy!
Side note to Barbara, Bonnie, Wayne, Cody, JerseyFrank, and, of course, FreakyFrank and Kaye... Anya and I absolutely LOVED the time we spent with all of you and CANNOT WAIT to do it again!!

We're saving you a seat! Next time I'm hoping to plan it out a little better and try to make it a week long event. Then make the weekend the "major" portion for those that can't stay a week @ a time.
