Fun Day for the most part

The weather today didn’t allow much work in the garden, but we did manage a little. Nothing to really speak of. Instead, we went shopping…………………… there goes another pay check. LOL

We spent some real money (in poor man’s terms anyway) on plants and garden stuff today.

Headed to town and bought fifty four Zinnias, forty eight Allyssum, two verigated Wegilias, four large Roses, one Iceland Poppy, three various Gerber Daisies, six white dianthus, one Mandeville (sp?), twenty Day Lillies, twelve “Cock’s Combs” and twelve “Clam Shell Cock’s Combs”. There are a mess of various “this and that plants” as well.

Christina is doing a bed of her own as well, so we bought a few plants she picked out as well (she’s still on the hunt for the rest of what she wants). For her bed, we bought fifty four Vincas, one yellow Gerber Daisy and one white “Trumpet Vine”.

Aside of plants, we purchased some other garden related items, sixteen more “Tiki torches”, four garden “critters”, five miniature green houses, one box of high chelted iron fertilizer, another fertilizer sprayer (just for the high iron stuff), and two more hose end “quick connects”. Christina picked up a “garden plaque” for her bed.

While we were at it, we bought Kay a new bathing suit, Christina and Kay a new lounge raft and some bug spray for the shed.

When we got in, Christina and I filled the “mini greenhouses” with dirt and potted the twenty Day Lillies. Then we watered everything, soaked the roses and put the rest of the stuff up for the next good weather day. Then we brought in the “mini greenhouses" and Kay and I planted some Bachelor Buttons, Asters, “Asian Lantern Plants”, more melons, and a few others that aren’t coming to mind at the moment. This pretty much ended up our gardening day. We spent most of the rest of the day designing (LOL, design) a few more beds and features.
