Simple Living

Less is more
More is less
Does simple living mean learning to deal with having little luxury?
Is self sufficiency something you fall on because times just got so hard?

These and many others are all things you hear often about my lifestyle.

First off, Less is more........ OKAY, if you say so.
More is less ....... again, requires context.
Simple living does NOT mean dealing with LESS luxury, on the contrary.
Lastly, it depends on the person I suppose, but in my case it's simply because I am happier in the lifestyle.

Let me open by saying this. You need to clear your vision to see things sometimes. Simple living isn't about having less. It's about PEACE and simple is peaceful. Walking out into the garden to pick a few tomatoes for your supper recipe is peaceful. Building your luxuries with your own hands is peaceful and then using them is peaceful AND rewarding. It's all about clearing your vision. See the forest and see beauty. Fear the forest and miss the beauty before you.

Look out in your garage, shop, shed, junk room or where ever you have your clutter stored and see what's hiding in there waiting to be the luxury you make it into.

Grab that old lumber and make yourself a smoke house, a bench or swing, a small deck perhaps with a roof to gather in the out doors.... whatever be your sight and do it.

Take those old scraps of cloth and that worn out jacket you love so much but just can't patch up one more time. Select your new jacket from the scraps (stitch them together if such is your vision), pull the seems of your old jacket and use it as a pattern for your new one. While you're in there, grab those old jeans that need the front pockets stitched up, flip them inside out and stitch 'em up.

Grab those odds 'n ends seeds that just don't seem to have a place. Grab your shovel, hoe, rakes and such and build a partial (half and half) light planting bed. Cast the seeds randomly in your new odds 'n ends bed and cover, then water. Spend the next few weeks being surprised about what pops up that you didn't know what was or that you had. Spend the rest of the season enjoying it's beauty.

I'd like to request that anyone who would add to this, do so.
It can be first hand, second hand info or even wistful info. Perhaps even hopeful info for your own motivation.
Please do add.

Many Thanks,
Freaky
